Technology

At West Creek Dental, we believe that everyone deserves a healthy, confident smile. We do our best every day for our patients by providing excellent service and quality dental care in a relaxing environment. Whether we are working to restore the function or the aesthetics of your smile, we incorporate the latest in dental technology and quality materials.

Here are some of the ways we incorporate technology into our South Austin, TX dental office on a daily basis.

Panoramic X-Rays

This type of x-ray provides a flat view of the entire mouth, jaw joints, and nasal cavity. Panoramic x-rays are particularly useful when making recommendations about tooth extractions because they give us a view of their development and orientation.

Digital X-Rays

Dental x-rays are a crucial diagnostic tool at our practice, enabling Dr. Gokhale to see potential dental issues before they are visible to the naked eye. Digital x-rays are safer than traditional x-rays, and they are better for the environment since there are no chemicals or films involved.

Digital x-rays are easy to share with your insurance company so there is less of a chance of treatment delays.

Intraoral Camera

These tiny cameras pick up where digital x-rays leave off, providing Dr. Gokhale with a view of the tiniest nooks and crannies of your mouth. She can show you exactly what she is seeing at the chairside video screen, which can be helpful when it comes to making decisions about treatment options.

Nitrous Oxide

If you have dental anxiety, we don’t want that to prevent you from getting the dental treatment you need. Nitrous oxide is a great way to make your dental appointment more relaxing. Breathed in through a mask over the nose, it almost immediately gives patients a euphoric feeling—hence its nickname “laughing gas”—while they still maintain full consciousness. It leaves the body quickly once the mask is taken away, so you can return to your normal activities, including driving yourself home after your dental appointment.
